So this stupid crappy game began with an out and then Carlos Guillen singled and then Dave and Red are talking about how Bret was walking around shirtless before the game with the letter "C" taped to his bare chest telling everyone that all teams need a captain and quite frankly I was a bit distracted with that image for some time and I guess an out later Carlos was safe at second on an error and then Edgar walked but we can't score them and get used to it folks because that was the story of the night and then Jamie Moyer retired the Angels in order.
Second inning and Mike Cameron led off with a single and 2 outs later he stole second but we leave him there because that is evidently the theme of the evening and then Jamie, possessed of demons, has a little bit of trouble and the Angels score twice and nobody really cares how but suffice it to say that it was very stressful and very annoying.
Third inning and we waste Carlos's 1 out walk, and then Anaheim scores again, and I could get into how, but really, it doesn't interest me in the least as I am a very poor sport and I hate Anaheim although Brad Fullmer and Troy Glaus are both pretty cute and anyway, off we go to the fourth trailing 3-0 and with 1 out, Cammie walked and then was out at second when Randy Winn hit into a fielder's choice and then Randy stole second and then we don't score him GODDAMMIT and the Angels waste David Eckstein's lead off single which made me happy.
Fifth inning and with 1 out, Ichiro was safe on an error and then Carlos singled and then Bret singled to load the bases and then they had a big conference on the mound regarding Edgar and Edgar delivered with a 2-RBI single and we trail 3-2 as we head to the bottom half where Shawn Wooten royally pissed me off and homered with 1 out and we trail it 4-2 as we head to the sixth.
So Cammie led off with a big nasty double and then Randy grounded him over to third and then Mark McLemore ripped a big nasty double of his own for his 1500th hit which scored Cam and then Ben Weber relieved Ortiz and Dan Wilson singled and then Ichiro hit into a fielder's choice and Mac and Dan, evidently deciding I was due for an aneurysm, BOTH managed to get themselves caught in a run-down to end the inning and I drop the F-bomb three times fast.
So 4-3 Anaheim and Julio Mateo relieved Jamie and with 1 out, Eckstein reached on an infield single which was nicely followed by a double play, so seventh inning and Brian Donnelly relieved Weber and Carlos singled to lead things off but we can't score him and then Anaheim wasted a 2-out single from Garrett Anderson so off we go to the eighth where Cammie doubled to lead things off and then Randy grounded him over to first and then... nevermind.
So bottom of the eighth and with 1 out, White
relieved Mateo and an out later and some Davanon guy walked and
then... David Eckstein... homered and it's 6-3 Angels as we head
to the ninth where Troy Percival came in to pitch and we are unable to do
a goddamn thing.
