So this rather unfortunate event began while I was still at work, so everyone had to listen to my baseball commentary whether they liked it or not as I couldn't be at the game, and anyway, Jamie retired the side in order, and then with 1 out, Mark McLemore walked and an out later he stole second but we are unable to score him and I should forewarn you that this becomes a horrible pattern.
Second inning and everybody's down in order, so moving right along to the third, some Owens guy hit a homerun which royally pissed me off and then we waste Ichiro's 2 out single, so it's still 1-0 Anaheim as we head off to the fourth inning where the Angels are down in order and Bret singled and then Edgar was hit by a pitch and some of you may remember how Anaheim has a history of pitching Edgar too far inside and he finally erupted in 2001 over this and had to be held back by the entire Mariner organization and some of the Angels but he unfortunately doesn't charge the mound this time and John Olerud singled and with the bases loaded and nobody out, we can't score one fucking run.
So fifth inning and Anaheim manages to tack on another run and nobody really cares how and then we're down in order and if you're sensing I don't want to talk about this game, you'd be right.
Sixth inning, 2-0 Angels and Derek Eckstein led off with a walk but then Jamie got Erstad to hit into a double play and the Angels end up down in order after all and then we waste Edgar's 1 out single.
Seventh inning and with 1 out, Troy Glaus singled but that's all Moyer will allow and we sit down in order yet again, so moving right along to the eighth, Jamie continued to pitch his heart out by sitting Anaheim down 1-2-3 and with 2 outs, we waste back to back singles from Bret and Edgar and Anaheim makes a pitching change blah blah blah yadda.
Ninth inning and there is our Rafael Soriano! He comes in for Jamie and with 2 strikeouts, walked Garrett Anderson before striking out Glaus to STRIKE OUT THE SIDE and then Troy Percival relieved Donnelly and we do absolutely nothing.
