So this game began with Freddy retiring the side in order and then Ichiro led off with a single and they pan to him at first base laughing with Brad Fullmer and I think they were maybe laughing at Carlos Guillen's filthy batting helmet and anyway, Carlos is busy shaking his head at a called strike 2 even though it was a perfectly fine pitch and I think maybe Carlos is drunk again and he ended up striking out and then Bret grounded Ichiro over to second and then Edgar walked and then John Olerud walked but that was as exciting as it got.

So then we go to commercial and suffer through Scary Eyeliner Lady trying to sell us Fords and anyway, second inning and with 1 out, Fullmer reached on an infield single that Bret made an excellent stop on and then we pan to Freddy's revolting hat that is stained with sweat and then Scott Spiezio struck out and NO WAIT!  The ump called strike 3 BALL 3 and Spiezio then ended up walking!  Horseshit I say!  So then Freddy retired the next two batters and we end up down in order and off we go to the third with no score.

So Carlos has sobered up and made a nice play to retire Julio Molina and then Mark McLemore made an excellent barehanded play to rob Derek Eckstein of a bunt base hit and then Freddy K'd Darin Erstad looking, so our turn and Ichiro TRIPLED to lead things off and then Aaron Sele accidentally hit Carlos with a pitch and very clearly said "FUCK!" and then an out later, Aaron did that horrible third-to-first-check-the-runners-maneuver which appalled me a great deal and we end up not scoring which appalled me even more.

So fourth inning and with 1 out, Garrett Anderson doubled but nobody really cares because they don't score him, and then we're down in order, so fifth inning and Anaheim is down in order too, and then with 1 out, Dan Wilson singled and an out later and Jeff Cirillo singled and we still can't score anybody and I do an Aaron Sele impression and drop the F-bomb.

Sixth inning and with 1 out, Darin Erstad was totally struck out and was HEADING BACK TO HIS DUGOUT when the ump called it a BALL which really annoyed me but he thankfully grounded out after that so I didn't have to pop a blood vessel over it, and then Tim Salmon brought his ass in from leftfield to walk but first base is as far as they make it, and then Edgar walked and Ole walked and Ben Weber relieved Aaron and Mike Cameron ripped a big nasty double which scored Gar and we take a 1-0 lead to the seventh.

So then Fullmer and Spiezio singled and then some Davanon guy sacrificed them over and Adam Kennedy walked and with the bases loaded and only 1 down, Bengie Molina came in to pinch hit for his brother Julio, and hit one right to Freddy who threw to home for the first out and then Dan threw to first for the double play and it was very, very, very cool, and then we're down in order which wasn't so great.

So eighth inning, still 1-0 M's, and with 1 out, Erstad singled, but then Salmon & His Ass hit into a double play, so our turn and Donnelly relieved Weber and hit Edgar with a pitch but since it only grazed his jersey, we will let Donnelly live this time, and then there is Luis Ugueto!  He comes in to run for Edgar and 2 outs later, he stole second and then Randy Winn singled which scored him, and Mac singled after that, but we settle for the 1 run again and lead it 2-0 as we head to the ninth, where Arthur Rhodes came in and retired the Angels 1-2-3 for the save.

"Freddy's been doing a hell of a job. The guy has been pitching his (tail) off, due to his corrections and his confidence. The people on this team have stood behind him no matter what." - Mike Cameron
