So this magnificent event began with me having a touch of sunstroke because I'm a big sun wimp and spent the day at Point Defiance Zoo with the Nephews and the Sister and basically this meant chasing Casey all over which was fun but exhausting, plus, it was totally hot and I was having to push this stupid stroller along and try to keep up with Casey who was NOT riding in it and we'd have to stop every few feet to look at bugs so it took us forever to get anywhere anyway, and at one point we're walking along and he squats down because he spots a bug moving and it's a SPIDER who is like CRAWLING ALL OVER THE PATH and I'm screaming (to my 2 and a half year old nephew) "STEP ON IT STEP ON IT!" and he's trying only he misses and the spider crawls on his little FOOT and I'm just getting completely beside myself over this and am pointing and screaming and he very nonchalantly flicks the spider off his foot, stomps on it and then carries on like nothing happened while I struggle along behind him trying to calm down.

So anyway, getting back to the game which started conveniently enough just as I was getting home, Ichiro led off with a single and then got caught stealing which really sucked because Carlos Guillen walked and then Bret ripped this big nasty double which would've scored him and then John Olerud hit a sac fly which scored Carlos and we settle for the 1 run and head to the bottom half where with 1 out, that Polanco guy walked, and then he went to second on a wild pitch from Gil Meche and then Bobby Abreu singled which scored him and which really pissed me off and then Mike Lieberthal reached on an infield single but we end up heading to the second all tied at 1.

So then with 1 out, we flash to the stands where there are all these freaks dancing around in straw hats and I have NO IDEA WHATSOEVER what any of that was about and then  Mark McLemore ripped this big nasty double and then Ben Davis singles and Mac goes to third and we get to see Ben's high school pictures because he's from Philadelphia and he doesn't look that different really, and then to the plate steps Gil Meche and the National League and it's hitting pitchers really annoy me no end, not just because Edgar can't play, but because pitchers can't HIT and it's totally lame to have to watch them make asses of themselves instead of watching someone like Gar swing the bat and anyway, Gil shows bunt like 6 years before the guy pitches and he ends up striking out and then Mac scored and Ben went to second on a passed ball, and then Ichiro, for reasons unknown to me, BUNTED for a single, which worked, but with 2 down and a runner at second, I have no idea why he didn't try to find a hole and score the guy, but whatever, and we end up not scoring any more and head to the bottom half where poor Pat Burrell was BOOED by his own fans for his .198 batting average but then he hit a double so I stopped feeling bad for him pretty quick and then a strikeout later and Padilla walked but Jimmy Rollins grounded into a double play bless his heart.

So third inning and we're down in order and then with 2 outs, Abreu walked and then Lieberthal singled and then David Bell made me very nervous because I thought he'd hit a homerun but he didn't, and we head to the fourth still leading 2-1 and with 1 out, Mac TRIPLED and then Ben hit a sac fly to score him and we take a 3-1 lead to the bottom half where Gil retired the side in order.

So then my raging headache got the better of me and I dozed off while Ichiro reached on an infield single that was promptly erased by a double play and we get nothing going, and then Philadelphia, with 2 outs, tacked on another run thanks to Jim Thome launching one into the stands and then Abreu walked again and went to second on a wild pitch but that was as exciting as it got.

So sixth inning and Ole ripped a big nasty double to lead things off and then Cam grounded him over to third and then Randy Winn hit a sac fly to score him and we take a 4-2 lead and then Mac walked before we headed to the bottom half where Gil retired the side in order once more.

Seventh inning and Pat Borders... Pat Borders?  When did we call him up?  What the hell is going on?  When did John Mabry go on the DL?  Why was I not informed of this?

Okay so PAT BORDERS comes in to hit for Gil and singles and then Ichiro singled and then some guy named Adams comes in to pitch for Padilla and Ricky Ledee goes out to play centerfield and an out later and Bret hit a deep fly which moved Borders to third and then Ole doubled again which scored him and we head to the bottom half leading 5-2 and Brutus jumped over from the coffee table and landed on the small of my back really hard which woke me up.

So then bottom of the seventh and enter Giovanni Carrara who very nicely retired the side in order while I was dozing back off and then Randy led off with a single and that was about as exciting as our half of the eighth inning got, but it was more exciting than Philly's, as Arthur Rhodes came in and struck out Thome and Abreu, and then Jeff Nelson came in and got Lieberthal to ground out.

So ninth inning and Plesac came in to pitch and his name reminds me of placenta which is really kind of gross and anyway, Ichiro is safe on an error and then Carlos Guillen singled and Ichiro went to third and Carlos ended up at second advancing on the throw and then Bret was intentionally walked to get to... John Olerud, which had I been awake, I would've snickered and laughed and shouted "HAHA STUPID PHILADELPHIA!" about, not that Bret doesn't deserve to be intentionally walked, but with Ole, it's like yeah okay, pick your poison, like go ahead and go with the "odds" but realize Ole hits everybody and sure enough, he singles which scores Ichiro and Carlos and then there's a pitching change, blah blah blah, we settle for the 2 runs, and head to the bottom half leading 7-2 and Kazuhiro Sasaki came in to finish off the Phillies, which he did in spite of a 1 out walk to Pat Burrell, and he recorded 2 K's besides.
