Joel Tosses A Complete Game Shutout

So I didn't get to see a whole lot of this game which was unfortunate as Joel pitched a COMPLETE GAME SHUTOUT which began with us wasting a 2 out double from Bret and then Cristian Guzman walked with 1 out but that was pretty much as exciting as things got.

So second inning and with 1 out, Randy Winn walked, and an out later and Jeff Cirillo hit a double only it went over the wall which means everybody got 2 bases and Randy couldn't score but fear not because Ben Davis singled which scored him anyway and it almost scored Cirillo but he got thrown out at home and then Joel retired the Twins in order and it's still 1-0 Seattle as we head to the third.

So we are very unfortunately down in order, and then that kid from last night who had his first major league at-bat, Ford, walks to lead things off and then an out later and Jacque Jones singled but Joel recovered nicely and got Guzman to fly out and then Corey Koskie went down swinging.

So fourth inning, and Edgar singled and then John singled and then Randy singled which scored Edgar and John ended up at third on an error and then Randy ended up at second on a wild pitch from Kyle Lohse and then Mark McLemore hit a sac fly which scored Ole and we take a 3-0 lead to the bottom half where Joel retired the side in order with 2 strikeouts besides.

Fifth inning and nothing much happened except that Carlos Guillen singled and Joel retired the side in order again, so let's just move along to the sixth where everybody on BOTH sides is down in order and keep right on going to the seventh where with 2 outs, Ichiro singled and stole second to break up the monotony, and then with 2 outs for Minnesota, Dustan Mohr reached on an infield single but then got caught off of first base and was tagged out coming into second and I guess he must have thought the ball got through or something.  Doofus.

So eighth inning and everybody's down in order again for both sides, so moving right along to the ninth, JC Romero comes in to pitch for Lohse and Randy led off with a single and then Mike "I'm Hitting For Mac & I'm Knocking It Yard!" Cameron came in to hit for Mac and KNOCKED IT YARD and we take a 5-0 lead

So then an out later and Ben Davis singled and then he was out at second on a fielder's choice by Ichiro but then Ichiro went to second on a wild pitch and then Carlos singled which scored Ichiro.

So then Carlos ended up at second on the throw in and then Bret walked and Edgar walked but we settle for the 3 runs and lead it 6-0 as we head to the bottom half where with 1 out, Guzman singled, and then Koskie singled, but Joel recovered to strike out the next two batters and complete the game, shutout still intact, which I got to see him do because I managed to get to a TV around this time.
