So this very long game began with me watching The very loud, very noisy, very busy but very cute Nephews while Ichiro was reaching on an infield single and then Carlos Guillen walked and then Edgar "Time For A 3-Run Dinger!" Martinez WENT YARD!

So an out later and Mike Cameron doubled and we end up heading to the bottom half leading 3-0 and I'm getting in my car to go home and turn on the radio just in time to hear Ryan Franklin give up a lead off single to Matt Lawton who then read a lined shot by Omar Vizquel wrong and ended up doubled off and then Ellis Burks struck out so off we go to the second.

So then Jeff Cirillo led off with a walk and Ben Davis grounded him over to second but that's as far as we get and then Ryan retired the side in order so let us just move right along to the third inning where I'm arriving home and turning on the TV set and Bret Boone leads off with a walk and then steals second and an out later, Olerud walks and then Cammie walks and with the bags full, Randy Winn singles which scored two and then Cirillo singled which scored two more and then Cleveland makes a pitching change which was kind of a bummer because I liked that Westbrook guy they took out and an out later, Ichiro walked but we're all done scoring for the moment and take a 7-0 lead into the bottom half.

So bottom of the third and with 1 out, Blake singled but a double play later and OH WAIT OOPS WHOOPS DOH OH CRAP!  CARLOS!  Sigh.  E6, everybody's safe.  And then Lawton was hit by a pitch which loaded the bags up and I'm getting all agitated about this because sloppy baseball really stresses me out, especially considering how it bit us in the ass yesterday, not to mention it's starting to rain pretty good and I want them to HURRY UP and get the time in so it's a complete game before they call it and Omar, bless his heart, hit into a fielder's choice and Blake was out at home which was exciting as plays at the plate are always exciting and then Burks grounded out and it's still 7-0 as we head to the fourth!

So as it's pouring down rain, Bret grounds out and then Edgar doubled and then Olerud singled and I'm having what some may call a Homer Fussy because it's REALLY COMING DOWN and then with Mike Cameron at the dish, they call it and I have a big f-bombing stroke because I'm going to be all kinds of pissed off if this game doesn't count.

So then Brutus the Batcat and I doze off waiting for the game to start and some two and a half hours later it thankgodfully does, but Brutus and I are down for the count and sleep right through Cleveland's new pitcher Riske coming in and walking Mike Cameron to load the bases, but we are unable to score, so I guess I didn't miss much.

"You can't take a chance when a [pitcher] sits for that long.  Even though Ryan has a resilient arm, and I'm sure he wanted to go out there, we couldn't take the chance. He's too important to us." - Bob Melvin on having to bring in a new pitcher after the rain delay

Bottom of the fourth and Giovanni Carrara came in for poor Ryan Franklin who will now be denied a win because of the wuss umpires and their aversion to rain and with 1 out, Gerut doubled despite an acrobatic try by Ichiro to catch it, and then some Laker guy reached on an infield single, but 2 outs later and nobody really cared.

Fifth inning, and we're down in order and then with 2 outs, Omar walked, and Burks singled and then Spencer walked to load the bases but they don't score which was rather excellent if you ask me and in case anybody missed it, the game is OFFICIAL!

So sixth inning, still 7-0 Seattle, some Boyd guy comes in to pitch to us, we're down in order, blah blah yadda, so is Cleveland and off we go to the seventh where with 1 out, Randy walked and an out after that, Ben walked but we don't score them and then Julio Mateo relieved Giovanni and with 2 outs, Omar homered for the Indians, and it's 7-1 as we go to the eighth.

So that Riggan guy comes in to pitch for Cleveland and Carlos greets him with a single and Bret says hi with a double and then Gar hit a sac fly to score Carlos and move Bret to third and then Bret scored on a balk and we are leading 9-1 as we head to the bottom half where Shiggy relieved Julio and Spencer led off with a double and an out later, he went to third on a ground out but they don't score and it's off to the ninth we go!

So we're down in order and then Jeff Nelson comes in for Shiggy and Willie Bloomquist comes in to play left and Randy moves to right and Blake led off with a walk, but a fly out and two K's later, the win is the books for us and we're off to Detroit and Brutus and I wake up about midnight wondering what the hell happened.
