I Missed A Great Game

So I didn't get to see much of this game because my friend Marjorie and I were going to get facials the next day and we are a bit scared of the facial ladies who always yell at us that we should drink more water and less alcohol, and that our skin is dehydrated and we need to moisturize everyday and we don't sleep enough, like it really kind of freaks us out how you can't sneak anything past these people, and so I wanted to get a good night's sleep, and things didn't start off well because Jiminez led off with a single and then Valentin homered and it's 2-0 Chicago before you can even blink really, and then Ryan Franklin retires the next three batters in order and we go to the bottom half where we do nothing and I go to bed so you can just imagine the thrilling commentary I'm going to have!

So second inning and I was glad I was asleep because Konerko singled and then Daubach singled and I probably would've been swearing myself lightheaded, but a fly out and a double play later and no harm done, so our turn and with 1 out, John Olerud singled and then Mike Cameron was hit by a pitch and then - nevermind.

Third inning and with 1 out, Jose Valentin singled and an out later and Magglio Ordonez walked, but then Valentin was caught trying to steal third 1-5 which I really would've enjoyed seeing.  So then bottom of the third and Ben Davis singled and then Ichiro singled and then Carlos Guillen sacrificed them over and then an out later and Edgar walked and then John Olerud singled which scored them both and then Cammie walked but we settle for the 2 runs and head to the fourth tied.

So then Rios singled and 2 outs later, Crede singled, but nobody scored, so moving right along, we do nothing.  Fifth inning!  Chicago is down in order!  We are not!  Carlos led off with a TRIPLE!  Bret Boone sacrificed him in!  We take the lead!  3-2 Seattle!  And then Edgar doubled!  Ole walked!  Chicago made a pitching change!  Mike Cameron greeted the new pitcher with a big nasty double!  Gar scored!  4-2 Seattle

So 2 outs later and it's the sixth inning and Chicago is down in order again and then - hey, this is familiar!  Ben Davis singled and then Ichiro singled!  And there goes Carlos, tripling again!  This tacks on another 2 runs to make it 6-3!  So blah blah yadda, 2 outs, a pitching change, and an out later, it's time for the seventh.

Chicago scores a run and nobody cares how, so our turn and nothing much happens except that we waste Jeff Cirillo's 2 out walk, so eighth inning and with 1 out, Ordonez singled and then Shiggy relieved Ryan Franklin and promptly got a double play to end their half, and then Bret Boone doubled with 2 outs and that's really all I care to say.

Ninth inning!  Jeff Nelson came in to close it out, gave up a harmless 1-out walk and picked up a save as we win it, which makes me very happy when I learn of it the next morning.
