How sweet of the Mariners to sweep the White Sox during my birthday weekend. This lovely event began with us sitting down in order, but even though Chicago's Jiminez lead off with a double and Jose Valentin reached on a bunt single that advanced him to third, Frank Thomas struck out, and when Magglio Ordonez flew out to Ichiro, Jiminez was gunned down at home trying to score. This was very boss.
Second inning, no score, and Mike Cameron reached on an infield single with two outs, but that is unfortunately as exciting as it gets and Gil Meche retired the White Sox in order, so let us just move along to the third and Jeff Cirillo singled which was unfortunately wiped out by a double play and then Ichiro WENT YARD to put us up 1-0 and then Carlos Guillen doubled and then Bret ALMOST hit a homerun but not quite and we head to the bottom half where with 2 outs, Jiminez walked but then he got caught stealing and maybe he should go take Base-Running 101 or something since that's twice now he's ran the White Sox out of an inning, or maybe it's just that he wants my birthday weekend to be a really happy one, I'm not sure.
So top of the fourth and Edgar "Since I Didn't Play Yesterday, I Will Wish Laura A Happy Birthday Today!" Martinez WENT YARD to lead things off and then two outs later and Randy "Party Animal" Winn was still celebrating my birthday also as he too WENT YARD and it is now 3-0 Seattle as we head to the bottom half where Gil again retires the ChiSox in order.

So fifth inning and Ben Davis leads off with a single and then Ichiro singled and then Carlos Guillen sacrificed them over and then Bret walked and then Edgar singled which scored Ichiro and Ben (not in that order of course) and I have to say that Edgar is so cool I almost can't stand it and it is now 5-0 Seattle as we head to the bottom half where Paul Konerko singled and an out later and Crede doubled and then some Olivo guy grounded out which scored Konerko and it is now 5-1 Seattle going into the sixth where with 1 out, the game ends up getting called for rain, but it is officially a complete game, which means we just swept Chicago and all I can say is that my birthday rocks.
"When we were in that last inning and you could see the rain coming down stronger, you didn't know for a while if we'd get it in. When Cammy caught that ball, I wanted to hug him." - Bob Melvin, on Cam making the final out
