So this lovely game began with 2 outs, but then Bret Boone singled and then Edgar singled and then John Olerud walked to load the bases and then Mike Cameron walked which forced in a run and then Randy Winn singled which scored Gar and Ole got thrown out at home bless his heart, but we head to the bottom half leading 2-0 and I don't see this because I have dozed off waiting for the game to start.
So bottom of the first and let's just sum this up with a lead off single, error, walk, double play which scored a run and then a fly out and it's 2-1 Seattle as we head off to the second, and I could get into all the particulars of who hit what and all that, but I don't like to talk about errors really.
So second inning and nobody does anything, so let's move along to the third where we waste Bret's double and then Chicago is down in order, like GO RYAN FRANKLIN and I'm sorry I don't have more to add to this, but evidently you just nod off without warning when you're getting old, and I AM going to be 27 tomorrow after all, and anyway, let's just move along to the fourth.
Mike Cameron leads off with a big nasty double and then goes to third on Chicago's error! Randy hit a sac fly to score him! Then Carlos Guillen singled! Then Ben Davis singled! And then with runners at the corners, Ichiro singled, which scored Carlos! An out later, Bret reached on an infield single to load the bases! Then Edgar walked which forced in a run! When all the dust settles, it is 5-1 Seattle and Ryan 1-2-3's the White Sox!
Fifth inning! Mike singled! Then Randy singled! Then Carlos hit a sac fly to score Mike! I am hoping all the exclamation points will make my commentary more exciting since I was still sound asleep at this point! 6-1 Seattle! Bottom of the fifth! Jose Valentin walked to lead things off! Carlos Lee grounded into a double play! Valentin tried to head butt Bret out of the way, but Super Ninja Bret, wearing his Super Ninja Neck Mask, averts this and turns two nicely! Chicago ends up down in order again after a fly out from some guy named Crede!
Sixth inning. With 2 outs, Edgar singles! It is his 2,000th career hit! I should've have woken up and slapped myself for sleeping through this! Edgar rules! I love that man!
"The man's got over 1,000 walks. That and 2,000 hits, man, that's doing some damage." - Bret Boone
"He's like a tree stump in the middle of our lineup all the time. It's kind of like having an inspiration with you all the time. It doesn't matter how tough the pitcher is, Edgar is going to battle him and, as often as not, hit him." - Mike Cameron
Bottom of the sixth. Chicago scores a run. Nobody cares how!
Seventh inning! Mike "I'm Goin 3-for-3 With A Yard Shot!" Cameron knocks one out to get things started! 7-2 Seattle! An out later, Carlos singled! Then Ben walked! Chicago makes a pitching change! An out later and Mark McLemore rips a big nasty double to clean off the bases! 9-2 Seattle! Bottom of the seventh - Paul Konerko leads off with a single but an out and double play later, and it's 3 up, 3 down again! WOO RYAN FRANKLIN!
Eighth inning! With 2 outs, Mike walked. I have a strange dream about losing my crayons at my Grandpa's house when I was little. Chicago wastes a 2 out single. We go to the ninth. I'm still dreaming I can't find my crayons. With 1 out, Ben Davis is doubling. Greg Colbrunn is coming in for Ichiro and walks. We are not scoring anybody, and head to the bottom half where Willie Bloomquist is taking over in rightfield, Rafael Soriano is coming in for Ryan Franklin, and is striking out Frank Thomas and Magglio Ordonez before getting Paul Konerko to fly out. We win it 9-2! I wake up and am very sad to learn I slept through this whole thing.
