So I'm watching this rather delightful event with Homer and it began with Freddy Garcia retiring the side in order and then Detroit's Adam Bernero retired US in order which wasn't very nice, so let's just move along to the second inning where Dmitri Young knocked one out to lead things off and Detroit took a 1-0 lead and I took some Tylenol, and then Freddy took his head out HA HA HA and got the next three guys no problem and Homer commented on how much Freddy's demeanor annoys him.

So our turn and John Olerud walked to lead things off and then Mark McLemore hit a ground rule double and then Carlos Guillen grounded out but that scored John and we have a tie game!  But then with 2 outs in the 3rd, Bobby Higginson homered and the Tigers take the lead again 2-1 and then Jeff Cirillo made a spectacular throw to get the third out of the inning as he threw Shane Halter out from his mid-air pirouette and that was kind of exciting.

So speaking of exciting, Dan Wilson TRIPLED to lead things off for us and then Ichiro singled which scored him and we are tied again at 2-2, and then Ichiro stole second and then Randy Winn reached on an infield single and Ichiro went to third and then Randy stole second which got the Tigers all excited and they threw the ball away trying to stop him and he went to third and Ichiro scored and we take a 3-2 lead and then Bret Boone singled to score Randy and it is now 4-2 and I'm a pretty happy camper as we head off to the fourth inning.

So everybody's down in order and I think we should just move along to the fifth where Freddy 1-2-3's the Tigers again and then with 2 outs, Randy walked and stole second but that was as exciting as it got although Bret did display a nice sassy toss of his helmet after getting called on strikes.

Sixth inning and that Infante guy reached on an infield single and then Bobby Higginson singled and they pan to him and Detroit's first base coach, both of which are chewing the hell out of their gum and I cracked up and then Halter struck out trying to bunt and then my nemesis Carlos Pena grounded the runners over and then for some reason, Dmitri Young was intentionally walked and Homer and I were busy cracking up over how they wouldn't be able to leave the field mikes on if I were on the field because every time a ball was hit hard I would yell "SHIT!" and we both look at the TV at the same time and are all "what the hell are they walking him for?" and then Freddy, possessed of demons, hit Dean Palmer with a pitch which forced in a run and Homer is all cringing in anticipation of my swearing, which comes out in the form of "GODDAMMIT!" and we manage to get out of it still leading 4-3 and Munson, who grounded out to end it, threw his helmet and I'd feel bad for him, but I stopped feeling bad for the Tigers yesterday when they won that bullshit game.

So our turn, and we waste Mark McLemore's walk, so let's just move along to the seventh inning where Freddy again retires the side in order and we waste Ichiro's 2 out infield single and I guess that pretty much sums it all up, so eighth inning and Arthur Rhodes comes in to relieve Freddy and he retires the side in order as well with 2 strikeouts and Homer has gone to mow his immaculate lawn on his beloved riding lawn mower.

So our turn and with 1 out, John Olerud walked but we aren't able to do anything exciting with it and there might have been some cool commentary or something that I could comment on, but I can't hear it because Homer is all roaring around on his lawnmower, so ninth inning and with 1 out, Jeff Nelson relieved Artie and retired the next two batters no problem and we win the game 4-3 and the series 2-1 and off we go to Yankee Stadium.
